If Kevin Durant and Greg Oden play only one season of college basketball, it will have been as All-Americans.

The freshmen were voted to The Associated Press' All-America team Monday, the first members of their class so honored since 1990.

The 6-foot-9 Durant, who led Texas to the Big 12 title game, was the only unanimous choice of the 72-member national media panel that selects the weekly Top 25.

Oden, the 7-footer who helped Ohio State to its first No. 1 ranking in 45 years, was joined on the team by seniors Alando Tucker of...

The 65-year-old Conradt is the second on the Division I college basketball victory list, behind only Tennessee women's coach Pat Summitt.

"The easiest thing to change is the leadership," Conradt said as she addressed the media with her team immediately after the NCAA...

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Jody Conradt doubled the membership of the most exclusive club in college basketball coaching.

Conradt became the second Division I coach to win 900 games as the Longhorns routed Missouri 70-57 on Tuesday night in the first round of the Big 12 Conference women's tournament.

Conradt is 900-306 in 38 seasons - four at Sam Houston State, three at Texas-Arlington and 31 at Texas. Among Division I coaches - male or female - she trails only Pat Summitt of Tennessee, who has 941 wins entering the NCAA tournament.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Texas freshman Kevin Durant said his left ankle feels "pretty good" and should be ready for the Big 12 tournament.

Durant twisted the ankle in the second half of No. 15 Texas' loss at Kansas on Saturday. He had 25 points in the first half but only seven in the second.
"It's feeling pretty good," Durant said Monday. "It's just a little bit of rehab. I'll be all right."

He was held out of practice but plans to return Tuesday. The Longhorns open Big 12 tournament play on Friday.

Durant averages 25.1 points and 11.4...

DALLAS (AP) - Darrell Royal is still quick with a quip, and few things get him rolling more than the Texas-Oklahoma game.

Now 82, Royal has perhaps the most unique perspective of the rivalry. A star player at Oklahoma in the 1940s, he coached at Texas for 20 years, making such a mark that the campus stadium now carries his name.
Even though he left the sidelines long ago, Royal is as eager as ever for the 101st edition of this border-state grudge match Saturday. He was practically waiting for his phone to ring this week for the chance to...

The Red River Rivalry is missing something this season - an undefeated team.

The Longhorns and Sooners both enter the duel in Dallas with at least one loss for the first time since 1999. The winner of Saturday's Big 12 South showdown can at least hold out slim hopes of working its way back into the national championship mix. For the loser, it's time to come to grips with reality and reassess goals.
In the Southeastern Conference, two more huge games between the league's heavyweights are on the slate with LSU at Florida and Tennessee at...
