AUSTIN, Texas -- University of Texas swingman Kevin Durant intends to declare himself eligible for the 2007 NBA Draft and will begin the process of hiring an agent, he announced today.

Kevin Durant has all the major college hoops awards, now the only question is whether he'll enter the NBA Draft.
According to the Dallas Morning News the answer is yes.
The DMN, citing unnamed sources with the team, says the 19-year-old Durant has made up his mind and could make it official as soon as today.
It's thought Durant would go either first or second in the draft and could command a tens of millions in endorsements right off the bat.

ATLANTA -- University of Texas freshman swingman Kevin Durant has been named the winner of the 2007 Naismith Trophy presented by AT&T, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Sunday night at the Georgia World Congress Center. Durant is the first freshman to win the award, which was first presented in 1969. He also is the second UT player to receive the honor, joining T.J. Ford who garnered the accolade in 2003.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Texas freshman Kevin Durant said his left ankle feels "pretty good" and should be ready for the Big 12 tournament.
Durant twisted the ankle in the second half of No. 15 Texas' loss at Kansas on Saturday. He had 25 points in the first half but only seven in the second.
"It's feeling pretty good," Durant said Monday. "It's just a little bit of rehab. I'll be all right."
He was held out of practice but plans to return Tuesday. The Longhorns open Big 12 tournament play on Friday.
